COOL! We don't fly home from Oasis until the 25th - that means we'll actually be able to be there for the Friday night celebration - woo hoo!!!!!

Oh piss and bother! They would pick the dates right in the middle of our annual 2 week vacation on Maui. :(

So sorry to miss this event, but guess I'll just have to console myself with Hawaii and the fact that I drink and dine at Bahooka almost every week of the year. :)

The Restaurant is Celebrating it's 40th Anniversary. It's just a weekend for everyone to go into Bahooka's and to enjoy all the memories it has given all of us for the past 40 years.

We went to Bahooka last night for my birthday. I saw the 40th anniversary signs posted and inquired about this event and asked about the Tiki mug. They were very friendly and enthusiastic, took me back and showed me the original sketches by Tiki Farm that they chose, it's a very cool mug. They said the T-Shirts are awesome. [BigTikiDude they WILL have XXL and XXXL they said they've already ordered them in those sizes] They said that someone has already committed to a party of 100 people that weekend. I plan to go, I'm just coming out of lurking here, I'm definitely going to this event since I've been going to Bahooka since I was a kid [at their original location in West Covina] I'm up for joining any Tiki Central members that weekend, count me in. Tell me/us where to meet, what time, etc.

I went for the first time this past weekend and I loved it. The only other Tiki resturants I've been to are the Kahiki and Tropical Bistro, and Bahooka is great.

I'll be there for the 40th, and try to get myself a mug.

Rumor has it that Leroy of OA will be there for dinner one of the three nights. I'll let you know if I hear any further details.

Sadly I will not be in town at the time.

This is going to be fun. A big thanks to WooHooWahine for pulling this together.

I wish we could make this event. Unfortunately it's the same weekend as one of our best friend's birthday, and another friend JP (who is friends with BigTikiDude) is having his annual Tiki Bash backyard party in San Jose with the bands Chum and the Meltones performing on that Saturday, so I doubt we will be able to make it.

If I can work it out, the best we could do is Sunday. I've put the event on my calendar, and we'll see what kind of magic I can work between now and then.

I wonder how many times unacquainted TC'ers have been in there at the same time and not even known it. Count us in -- Bahookahuna and Bahooka-hula.
