Anyone recognize this carver's mark?

Posted this maori-style carving to Tiki Finds the other day:

It has this mark on the bottom which looks like "WW" or "WxW" or possibly is upside-down in the photo and it's "MM" or "MxM". Anyone recognize the mark?

Chances are its a tourist souvenir tiki. Looks very nice though

Its probably a piece mark to show a tourist carving seller which of his carvers made the item.
