Koi on La Cienega is a little bit of Bali here in LA. Located just South of Santa Monica, has a fireplace inside and out, water features, prominent Bhudda head, votive candles everywhere and bamboo galore. Whether outside basking in the glow of the 2 fireplaces, lounging in the candlelit bar or officially dining in the redwalled room, Koi captures the Balinese spirin Tiki-type martinis and delicious pupus. Warning: Home of the beautiful people and don't forget to leave some cap space on the charge. Photos: http://www.koirestaurant.com/pictures.html [ Edited by: christiki295 on 2004-10-31 14:48 ] |

Another beautiful and seductive Balinese inspired space in Nirvana on Wilshire, 2 blocks east of Robertson. From the kama sutra-inpsired menu to fertility sculptures along the walls, this Indian restaurant really wants you to get it on. Thus, the rationale for the four-poster lounges - beds and the plush, luxurious sofas in the candlelit lounge. It's a sexy, seductive space with a glass-covered walkway, filled with frisky baby koi, that stretches from the door to a six-foot Buddha head in back. The lounge is dominated by a 10 foot tall glorious Bhudda head fountain in the lounge. Fireplaces warm the bodies in the lounge as well as in the inside and outside dinning rooms.
