St. Aubin

I searched the TC engines but didn't find this name.
Could it be I've found a r(h)um that martiki doesn't know about?

Probably not.

But St. Aubin Rhum Agricole Vanille and Blanc are sitting here in front of me.

The owner of the B&B I'm staying at brought this stuff from Mauritius on his last trip.
I'll do a complete tasting report tomorrow because tonight's libation is a bottle of Meerlust Rubicon - one of my favorite wines on the planet and the rhums deserve a fresh palate.

I'll put a few pics in too for you label collectors.

P

No pics yet.

BUT I did get a taste of these rums.

The regular clear rum was VERY strong flavored as in Cohiba.
Not a favorite.

The vanille Rhum had a vanilla bean in the bottle.
It really mellowed it out but added a vanilla flavor that was a little too much for my taste.
For a cocktail I'll bet it would work nicely.

FInding syrups here to purchase would be a challenge.
I can't even find them in the States.

I think I already saw that rum here. You should come and check

Hi all!

This is my first post here, and I´ll try to explain as best as I can (lot of time i don´t write and speak in english).
I took with me one of these bottles from Mauritius, and here you have the pic (not very good, Im not a good photografer). Hope you´ll like it.

This is another spiced rhum i bought there, (strong taste, I don´t like it very much).

Gracias, Pelagito. Those a great photos; thanks for sharing! I'm not fond of agricole rums, myself. Too "green".

P

Gracias - Mahalo for the photos!

I was just about to go shoot the bottles and thought I'd check the thread.

The vanilla isn't bad. But it's not great either.

"Green" is a good description of the flavor.
