Just back from Tahiti and found a new beer. Its called Tabu-Tiki Beer - Tastes pretty good and its the new thing in Polynesia. Brought a six pack home. Also, heard a lot of resurgence of Tiki in Tahiti. Many good things are coming to the States via Tahiti soon. |

Wow...how do the locals like it? When we were there all the locals drank Hinano. And please post the pic I'm dying to know. The Monitors |

Pacific Andy: Congratulations on your most excellent tiki find from the motherland. A good choice for a souvenir. Is it made in Tahiti or is it imported for marketing there? |

Is this stuff also known as "Tiki Red"? Or is there a red version? I told you guys the horror story of trying to search the Net for that! |

No its a new brew made in Tahiti. Its a small micro brew and the company in owned by an American in Tahiti - Tough life - I will take a shot tonight and post it. Its not much of a "tiki" bottle, its all type and very modern design. I will also get the email address in Tahiti so we can bug the guy to send us some and change the label. |

Please do! I want to try it bad. It's alot better if we can buy it online, instead of paying for the airfair. The Monitors |

Hey Andy! Thanks for the news and info on the cheap airfare! We were there in December but I didn't notice this beer. How does it compare to Hinano? Is their brewery located in Papeete or outside of the city? |

It taste more like a bud light than a Hinano. It is supposedly brewed in Tahiti. Another good beer in Tahiti is Ariki Beer. Brewed in Tahiti and the guy who owns it is an American. |

Here is the website for products in Tahiti. They have a pretty good vanilla rum and the Araki Beer is Good. Still trying to find out the details on the Tiki Beer. |

My wife and I were fortunate enough to go on vacation in Rarotonga and Aitutaki this summer and there was a quick 1 hour stop over in Tahiti. I finally found the mysterious Tabu Tiki Beer. I was lucky enough to buy a beer mug, which is now Paranoid123's souveneir. I hope every one enjoys the pics. I also took a picture of the lable. Just in case people want to contact Tabu Tiki. Excellent vacation! Everything would be worth knowing. Which island, where did you stay and how was it? And most importantly, Is it available here or on-line? Thanks (I may have gotten somewhat carried away ) |

For this summer's vacation Tahiti was just a stop-over. We went to Rarotonga and Aitutaki. Aitutaki is to die for, comparable to Bora Bora in Tahiti. However, we did go to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora 2 years ago. How prevelant is the tiki image - what other products is it on? The Tiki image is pretty prevelant in Tahiti. One of my favorite logos is Tahiti's international airport (FAA'A) The logo is a marquesan tiki with a plane in front of it. I wish there were stickers. Did you see any "real" tikis? When you say real, I'm assuming authentic from hundreds of years ago. We went to some "temples" in moorea, but didn't see any authentic ones. What did you think of the Tiki Village on Moreea? I have to agree with the previous post that it's meant for tourists, but you have to go. It's like going to California and not going to Disneyland. We liked it, I actually bought the CD and listen to it on a regular basis. And most importantly, Unfortunately not. I don't think Tabu Tiki has a website. If you want details about the Rarotonga/Aitutaki vacation you can email me at [email protected] |
