5th Annual East Coast Tiki Revival - Fort Lauderdale - Oct 19/20

Pages: 1 18 replies

Aloha!!

We've had a slight change in plans regarding the ECTR but here's the details...

In light of the Crazed Mugs and Haole Kats show on October 19th, we've decided that the resurrection of the East Coast Tiki Revival should take place that particular weekend! Since many of you were already making plans to be in the Lauderdale area, we just thought we'd make this one a bit simpler and schedule the next one in early 2008.

So, come on down to Fort Lauderdale to celebrate at the Mai Kai on Friday, October, 19th and then come join me on Saturday, October 20th at my housewarming party and to officially christen my home bar - The Sunken Pearl. The party is a Stock the Bar and Southern Pot Luck - more details will be announced soon!

I've really fallen in manlove with the Riverside Hotel lately.
I'm not so big on Las Olas' schmoozie drunken flatliners, but I love the hotel there.

Orrrrrrr... should we stay at The Cabana?

Orrrrrrr... should I just get everyone on board my ship?

Yep, sold one song to Jimmy Buffet and this was his gift to me.
That and a box of Cohibas.

Or maybe I'm dreaming that.
Don't wake me up for heaven's sake, the Mai Kai girls are just now showing up.

I'll call the Cabana and see what kind of rate I can get for interested parties. The Best Western Oakland Park is always a great stay and staff. They're really close to the Mai Kai and also to my house!!!

Wow, Kiliki! That's a grand idea!
Sign me up!

Anyone in the area who wants to extend to Sunday to do a Miami Mid Century Modern tour, let me know. I'm a willing guide.

We're booked in the ratty old Best Western. I hear it's "Free Syringe and Porn in the Parking Lot" night. :) Actually, I can't do the Cabana. I've got two other rooms of family with me on this trip and I don't think they're going to be too keen on an all night rum party in the adjoining room. However... we're ditching them all for Kiliki's party!

Liz, that sounds like LOADS of fun! I so wish we could. But with family and all with me that weekend, can we take a raincheck on that offer?

CABANA! Seagull Sh*t sandwich! (actually that blackened grouper is hard to beat!). Any party poopers will be fed to the tarpon.

BK - I think it's about time if you let us know if you're coming or not! Who else is gonna cook at my Southern Pot Luck Housewarmin' Party??

TK

Who else will be coming down (near & especially afar) aside from the Haoles? C'man yall. Please do tell who we can expect.

I will be making the long trek from the North. Looking forward to a few Rum Barrels at the Mai Kai and several other concoctions at TK's.

Liz - Well, you already know we're going to be there. Should be there for all of Friday night. Plan to be at Christie's the next night, but can't get there til late, like 11.

AlohaStation - Please say hello, looking forward to finally meeting you! Your carvings are outstanding. I'll be the mid-life-crisis dude with the ponytail and the beautiful wahine.

Chip and Andy are in for Friday!

You can't miss us, we're the cute couple wearing our best aloha wear.....

Give us about 20 minutes warning and we can have the guest bed turned down and ready for you. We'll even put a Mai-Tai on the pillow for you.

Did I say Mai-tai?

I meant to say Chocolate.

Important information update regarding the party on Oct 20.
Those of you from far-&-away whom intend to go should contact Kiliki for further information.

I hope all of you kids have fun this weekend! Being in Texas (which is closer than California), it's awfully temping to get in my car and drive there... even if that isn't really possible (it'd take me a day and a half! :D)

Have a swell weekend!
