Another radio interview, this time on WLW 700 in Cincinati.

Today at 3:40 p.m., Eastern time!

T

The next big Radio TIKI media appearance is this coming Wednesday at about 6 PM Central time, on Sirius Satellite Radio.

I'll be on Martha Stewart's weekly show about COCKTAILS!

I'll make sure to set all the yuppies straight about how a good tropical drink is made.

And also, on Saturday - yes right in the middle of HRHH3 - I will do an interview with Peter Greenberg (a syndicated weekly travel talk show).your local affiliate here:

G

Ok, who's got Sirius that can record the show? I'd love to hear it. Set Martha straight James!

I know how you could create a positive rapport with her right away: Nudge her and ask if she has any hot in-official stock tips! :D

T

Just talked to the producer; I guess I won't be speaking with Martha directly, but rather with a guy who apparently does a weekly show about cocktails on Martha's network.

This week's theme, of course is Tiki drinks.

Looks like I will be on-air for about 20 minutes, and they want me to tell the Beach vs. Bergeron Mai Tai dispute story, among other things.

Should be cool...

TL

Hey, I'm with GatorRob!
Somehow, I never thought I'd be lusting after anything Martha, but the cocktail show sounds promising.
Please also see this event in General Tiki topic: "Cocktail hour....tonight"

TL

Tikibars, I'd love to hear your version of the Donn vs. Vic story!

T

I'll be spilling it as I understand it...

I

FYI, I found the following item on the People Magazine website, in the section called 'Caught in the Act'

"Matthew Broderick, feting the 100th birthday of New York landmark the Plaza, during a rooftop party complete with fireworks. Also at the bash: Martha Stewart, who fondly recalled having drinks at the hotel's Trader Vic's during her college days."

Vern

T

Looks like ol' Martha really is a follower of the Trader.

That interview went well; they invited me to come back on air and be a guest in-studio next time I am in NYC.

Santa Monica Press has been going crazy with the radio promos lately; I did about a half dozen more radio interviews after the ones listed above.

If anyone has recordings of any of them, LMK... I like to keep archives...

what station on sirius??? and why are they doing a cocktail show on the radio when the audience can't see what the drinks look like??? did they forget that a big part of most mixed drinks is the presentaion??...kinda wierd.

T

Here's some more Tikivision featuring yours truly.

Well, they didn't make me seem TOO much like a weirdo..!

It is on the front page right now, but I imagine that you'll have to click the 'video room' link on the left side if you're reading this post more than a week or so after the fact.

Nice.

I like your seafoam green walls.

Looks good with the white ceiling!

ha! i agree with he pizza guy...what the hell ARE you doin?? ha!!

that was good...you need to wear a safari hat in these interviews...and a really bushy mustache and a monacle.....

where do you keep the small children locked up??

K

Yeah, yeah, do YOU want to come over and do my ceiling, mr. expert man?
:)

Cool vid James. Nice to get a peek at Aku Hall. First Charles Phoenix and now you. Is Martha going all hip on us? I'd love to see you on her show. She might make you knit some drink coasters with her.

T

Peter Anthony Holder called me up today to be on his show again tonight.

Looks like Dick van Patten canceled on him again (haha).

He wants to talk about Tiki Road Trip 2 (natch), Big Stone Head, and my new web site, cocktailsnob.com.
I am happy to oblige, of course!
My previous interview with Holder was pretty good (that was the one available for download for a while from his site), so I am looking forward to talking to him tonight.

That's on at 1:00 AM east coast time in Montreal (and now in Toronto as well).

Check it out:
