Dubai's "Eighth Wonder of the World"

Pages: 1 3 replies

"As a part of his commitment to transform Dubai into one of the world's premiere travel destinations, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum conceives of man-made islandes comprised of homes, resorts, hotels and amenities."

That's right, the United Arab Emirates is building "The Eighth Wonder of the World" - man-made islands in the ocean laid out in the pattern of several huge date palm trees. The "trees" will be visible from space with the naked eye. Why? A playground for the rich, to remind its neighboring countries why they hate the west, etc.

??? I thought this was in the Middle East. Those folks do big, gaudy and devisive much better than we could dream of in the West. Even in LA, you can't find diamonds and Rolex's fitted into saddles.

The largest Rolex in the world is in southern california- in a "clocktower" in a strip mall in Calabasas.
