Hi everyone!

I'm kind of an Exotica/Tiki music fan. I've always been a fan of Gilligan’s Island. I know, dumb show but I love it.

About three or four years ago I got XM Radio.
There was talk back then of a channel they use to have but got rid of called On The Rocks. They played lounge music. They moved to the channel to their XM Online site. I started listening and found the music very very fun and good. They played a Les Baxter exotica song and that set me off to search for more of this crazy, wild, fun, and beautiful music. That search led me to Martin Denny. I bought a 2 CD set of the best of Martin Denny. I love this set.

Well, I got an iPod Touch over Christmas and am now doing this iToons thing. I saw on Tiki Central a review of the Tiki album Voodoo. Sure enough, iToons had the whole cd and I bought and downloaded it. I'm currently listening to it
for the first time now. I like what I hear!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here! I love Tiki music!

Thanks. I just bought a 25 song Best Of
Arthur Lyman from iToons this evening. Good stuff
and different from Martin Denny. I bought Voodoo
by Robert Drasnin yesterday. Voodoo is very good
and fun music.

In another thread some one posted a link to
a youtube video of Arthur Lyman playing the vibraphone.
Wow, that video blew me away. I never paid much attention
to that musical instrument before.
I have new respect for that instrument. I've watched that
video now ten times. Absolutely amazing stuff.

I should add - I also have a Robert Mitchum
calypso CD called "Calpyso is Like So..." I know
calypso is not Tiki music but it sure sounds just
as tropical as the other Tiki songs I have on my
iPod. I have a Tiki/Tropical playlist with all
my Tiki and Robert Mitchum music. It all sounds
nice and fun.
