Does anyone here have a recommendation for a place in the San Diego area that has good prices for bamboo poles and slats as well as thatch? |

Try these two I think they both have a good selection. |

Yeah Tikiland has cool thatch and matting and the owner Cobain's a trip. If he wags his weasel at you, consider it a great compliment. You might also try http://www.islandthatch.com Tell Dave that Hodaddy sent ya! [ Edited by: hodadhank 2008-01-28 15:09 ] |

On Morena in the Mission Beach area there is a great store called Solai Bamboo. I have bought a bunch of stuff from them over the years. |

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm looking to get mostly bamboo slats for trim, a few split poles, and a lot of thatch to go around the top couple of feet on four walls. I was looking at this place's web site: http://www.calibamboo.com/bambooslats.html Noted they had 25 6-ft. slats for $100. Four bucks per slat seemed pretty good, but I'm open to other suggestions. Of course now that I've posted the above, I checked out Island Thatch per Hodadhank's suggestion and see the slats a wee bit cheaper. Never even heard of this place and it's pretty close to home. And free shipping same as Cali Bamboo. Thanks again all! |
