That's right folks, another London venue is going 'tiki'! I came across this article while searching for my favourite late night haunts...Hey now! I know what you are thinking but unless it's 'tiki-pole dancing' I'm not interested in that smutty side of life...just ask my partner Sian the Beachcomber? She'll vouch for me! Anyway, yet again, I digress. Check out the link to the 'Islington Tribune' article, it'll whet your appetite I'm sure. http://www.thecnj.co.uk/islington/2008/020108/inews020108_02.html One thing is for sure with CheekyTiki at the helm it'll be another corker! Watch this space! Good Luck with the NEW venture - Trader Jim (make mine a Mai-Tai and a BBQ prawn!). |

Get your 'french derriere' over here when it opens 'mon ami', and your Mai-Tai will be on me! Take care - Trader Jim (I'll make ours a Mai-Tai!). |

*One of Britain’s top designers specialising in tropical deccor has been employed to convert part of the pub into a 70-seater diner and bar. The same firm, Stoke Newington-based Cheeky Tiki, who created London’s popular Polynesian restaurant Mahiki, near The Ritz hotel in Mayfair, are behind the new landmark venture. The Mahiki, which has included royals as diners, has just won a best new bar design award in the UK. Architect Jamie Wilson, a director of the firm, said that they haven’t decided on a name for the Archway restaurant yet, but work is about to begin on the new venue, which should be ready to open in April this year. * Wow, congrats to Cheeky Tiki, again. I agree with Local Lib Dem councillor Kasprzyk, this is "...wonderful news." Another Polynesian/Tiki spot for London, my favorite city is fast becoming quite the Tiki haven. Certainly hope this new locale is up and operational by, say, early June? Cheers, |

Now...CALM DOWN GUYS! I think you may have gotten the wrong end of the stick (pole) there? It's not going to be a tiki pole dancing club, although I did think (hope!) that when I first read the article! Hopefully the latest POCKETIKI Magazine postcard will help relieve your pent up tensions! NOT an authentic 'tiki-pole' but HEY!...when did POCKETIKI ever let 'authenticity' spoil the party?!!! Hope you like it guys'n'gals! Gotta go...'Paradise or Bust' has just started on BBC2!!!! All the Best from Tiki Towers - Trader Jim (Make mine a Mai-Tai!). |

this program deserves it's own thread, especially bits like the Fijian Militarry coup where the Army leader cannot start the coup because he has a rugby match to attend in the afternoon, and that evening they have to drink "grog" to celebrate the Rugby! |
