Visiting SF & LA end of March

Pages: 1 5 replies

Hi, me and partner will be visiting SF and LA (from England) in a couple of weeks (21st March - 5th April). Been a few times and have visited Tonga Room and the Tiki Ti. Would like to meet some friendly locals and try some new places for drinks, etc. Staying in Palo Alto but will be in the city for a couple of nights, and West Hollywood in LA. In our early 40s, just a normal couple of guys into tiki, retro, music from lounge to indie, movies, etc. Would really like to just hang out with similar guys and girls.
Thanks!

CL

Aloha,

Welcome to TC. Weds is Tiki Central night at Forbidden Island -- TCers are usually there that night. Just let us know your schedule and we'll do our best to join you.

Have a great trip!

if yer into surf music,
and in the LA area on the 28th and 29th

the Volcanics (60's stlye frat/surf)
are playing at Spikes in Rosemead. on Fri March 28th.
and that is just a few miles from Bahooka.

and Sat. March 29th.
the Ghastly Ones (spooky Surf, and Garage)
are playing at The Juke Joint in Anaheim.
sadly the only thing vaguely tiki in Anaheim is peoples home bars.

If you need anymore info on either of those,
PM me.
and if you want to see my tiki room, if you go to the Ghastly Ones show.
let me know, and you can swing by for a tad, before the show.

As mentioned by CocoLoco, Wed. is Tiki Ti Night here in Los Angeles.
I suggest a trip to the Purple Orchid in El Segundo.
If you want a night that is a little more mellow, I suggest a weeknight at the Tonga Hut.
It's just a hop, skip & a hula from my digs, so I'd be happy to throw one back with ya.

I'm happy to head over to Forbbiden Island for some tiki cheer...the best tiki place around! I love taking out-of-towners there. I'm in SF, but go over often.

yes tiki ti's and tonga hut are both awesome...tonga hut is way bigger and less crowded tho.
