I thought it was strange too since I've never seen a mug with the sticker placed anywhere but the bottom, but these were. I'm guessing they were never used because well, the sticker has survived where it was placed. If you would like, I'll be glad to take a picture of both of my mugs located here in Florida showing both stickers in the same place, as well as have Uncle Trav take a picture of his in Michigan, showing the exact same placement, I sent one up to him. I am not hiding anything, I am selling this item as it was found.
