Anyone know where to get this Plastic Moai Mug

Pages: 1 9 replies

Hello all,

Trying to find a website to order these Plastic Moai Tumblers/cups.

I've seen them at many different events, they were used at Tiki Oasis 4 in the lounge at the Caliente Tropics and the above picture is cropped from a phot0 that Dogbytes posted from Monkeyskull's recent Vodoo Lounge Party on ITD in Seattle. This picture is obviously the backside of the mugs - they are detailed with wood grain and are detailed with an angular moai face on the front side. They are Plastic but are quite durable.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jon M

Yup those are them.... but!
They are listed under there SoldTikis page - meaning??? they dont have them anymore? I guess. bummer.

Monkeyskull, sent me a link to http://www.dahawaiistore.com/partyluau.html

Item Listing:
TS870044 Brown
TS870011 Black
6" Plastic Tiki Tumblers
Holds 12 fl oz
$2.50 ea

Kinda pricey by the each though - I need to find 250 of them!
hmmmmm - how can I find the manufacturer... I will call daHawaii store when they open today (Island Time)

Anyone have any suggestions for a cool inexpensive souvenir mug/cup/glass, I can serve a Mai Tai in (to non TCer).
I was hoping for getting a cup for a buck or so. There are some garrish plastic tiki tumblers available for a buck, at various internet party stores.

Can't bring myself to order them however... Fugly!
I am serving Trader Vics Recipe Mai Tais at a Labor Day Block Party in Downtown Hampton New Hampshire.

Jon,
As an alternative to a cheap (hence) ugly tiki mugs, maybe you could try a plastic party cup kinda thing, like you can buy in bulk for weddings, etc. Hell, Trader Vic's serves their mai tai's in smaller, clear (yet imprinted) glasses and you could practically produce something similar, providing you have a nice, simple graphic through someone like: http://www.wedding-supplies.com/clear-plastic-cups.htm
At .47 cents per cup + a 39$ setup charge for a 1 color graphic (like TV mai tai glasses)--that's well within your budget.

Need a graphic?-let me know :)

I forgot you are an artist yourself so you probably wouldn't need any graphics help

Try these peeps too: http://www.dynastywholesale.com/index.html

Thanks for the links Howland.... I like your ideas.
I think you are right about the clear cup.

Any other suggestions out there?

I found this choice at http://www.myriahs.com/publishtikipage/plasticmugs1.html

#S122 - PLASTIC MAI TAI GLASSES
$12.00/25, $120.00/300
8 oz., 4" tall, lightweight clear plastic glasses with colorful hula girls,
flowers, pineapple, and "MAI TAI". Can be carefully washed and re-used.
25 glasses per package.

They are kind of interesting but do you think at 4" tall and 8oz capacity... they may be too small?
Great Price though!

I have about 20 of those plastic tiki mugs, which I used for parties. I bought them probably 7-8 years ago from some party store website. At the time, they were the only plastic tiki mugs available that weren't neon colored. It appears that they still are.

Another option is to order ceramic mugs from Dynasty wholesale. I think that, in bulk, you can get standard tiki-style mugs for around $4 a piece.
