New bar: Drink in Boston, MA

Hi everyone

Just a quick word that apparently, a new cocktail bar called Drink will be opening in Boston in the fort point channel area downtown. it's supposed to be top knotch with a famous SF bartender relocating to help open the place. Sometime in the next month. Hey, it's got a great name! No word on whether tiki drinks will be served, but it's definitely geared towards cocktail aficianados.

I think this is owned by Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park fame. John Gertsen, the old main bartender from No. 9 Park, seems to be involved as well. John is a great bartender, but I think is more management level involved than behind the bar at this point.

I think of them though more as Savoy Cocktail Book specialists, rather than Tiki types. John though certainly can mix some great old world rum based / whiskey based cocktails. I can speak from (intoxicated) experience...

The SF bartender's gotta be Josie Packard... she left San Francisco (she was at Alembic) to move back to Boston a few weeks ago. She's good. Seriously good. I miss having her here in the neighborhood, and the next time in Boston I'm making a beeline to wherever she's mixing.

When in Boston, I always stop in at Green Street. Nice rum selection, good food and a few bartender who really know what they're doing!!
