salvaged bar

My mother-in-law is an expert junk hunter and loves looking for tiki for me. I have been patiently waiting for a bar to come my way. She spotted this bamboo bar on the side of someones house. She asked the guy if he wanted to sell it and he said he's trade it for some baked goods. This is how it looked when I got it.

Thanks to all the time I've spent here reading your great advice, I knew just what to do. A stiff brush, a torch, a can of amber shellac and three hours later...

I just love it and mixed cocktails on it last night. Thanks for all the advice and inspiration!!

That looks great. Makes we want to do something more to our bar!

Well done, tikirose! Very inviting!

My wife and I simply ADORE trash-to-treasure things like this.
