Mark your calendars for this one: THRILLVILLE does Tiki in August! AT THE PARKWAY - 1834 Park Blvd. Oakland, CA 94606 http://www.picturepubpizza.com/ Thursday, August 14 Aloha, Thrill seekers, been a long time, but it's finally here, another epic excursion into esoteric, erotic exotica: (How appropriate that my 666th post announces...) THE RETURN OF THE DEVIL-ETTES! http://www.devilettes.com/ **For those of you that haven't been to the Parkway, it's the best. Movies, couches, pizza, and draft beer. You're already off to a great start there: add all of the above tiki goodness and, well, you've got a winner! The last one was a great time. We'll probably show some killer shorts on the big screen as well, hopefully including The Secret Of Easter Island, Otto on Food TV, maybe even Gorilla X(?) Who knows? You won't know unless you go! Psst...it's also Rebecca's 30th birthday. [ Edited by: martiki6 on 2003-07-29 14:35 ] |

In addition to beer and wine, I'm planning on offering wine-based exotic cocktails and fruity tiki drinks (in accordance with the restrictions of our license - hey, it's a legit movie theater!)so we approximate the tiki bar experience for one night at least. The Devil-ettes will intoxicate us anyway. |

Just an update on this Thursday's festivities: I did acquire a case of primo wine-based rum and vodka (in accordance with our alcohol license, which prohibits hard liqour) so we can make an ersatz but still potent "Tiki Punch" to serve along with the Parkway's regular assortment of wine and beer, just to add some exotic flavor to the menu. Hawaiian pizza will be the special of the day as well. Otto is bringing three short films to show in addition to my DVD of Corman's hour long '57 drive-in classic "She Gods of Shark Reef," including a Don Tiki promo, something on the Kahiki, and a segment from the Food Channel about exotic cocktails featuring Otto and Baby Doe. |
