Kona Spice Powder?

Pages: 1 9 replies

Now that Kona has passed into history and The Beachcomber lives on the mainland again, I'm wondering if anyone can spill the beans about one of Kona's secret ingredients?

They had a particular margarita recipe on their menu that got an insanely delicious spiced powder on its rim instead of salt. This stuff was seriously good, and my wife and I tried and tried to get the bartender to give up the composition of it time after time, but he never would.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? Anybody got a recipe?

was it red/pink color?
there is a salt that is popular in hawaii that is mixed with red clay dust.
for example:

It's an apricot and peach based powder...

You guys still using it at The Beachcomber, Ryan?
That stuff was delicious.
Can't wait to make it down this Fall.

They still have it at the Beachcomber, although I am no longer there.

WHAT!?! I'm glad your able to get back to your family but what about us? Can you fill us in on what they have planned to replace your expertise?

Marie from Busters is the new bar manager

I'll be doing something in vegas soon... Stay tuned...

Sorry to see you Go Ryan.

I agree, sorry to see you leave Ryan although I was only there once while you were there, I liked the drinks very much.
