Anyone have Trader's Stinker Recipe from Trader Vics? This was the drink that was served in that cool menehune goblet. I have an old Trader Vics Scottsdale menu with the drink listed. Thanks, Jim [ Edited by: zrongo 2006-06-04 21:39 ] |

I had the Stinker at Trader Vic's Emeryville for lunch today. It was a lightly flavored refreshing drink. That along with the Suffering Bastard I had came to 6 oz. Of 80 proof, more than a 3 martini lunch, yikes! B.T.W., does any Trader Vic's serve Suffering Bastards in the specialty Tiki Mug anymore? Mine came in a double old fashion glass. Note that the gin should be Sloe Gin, which I believe is gin flavored by sloe berries. I have a Hiram Walker Sloe Gin and it has a pretty sweet berry flavor. I've read that it is not a very authentic sloe gin and that the one recently introduced by Plymouth is the one to get. At the rate I'm using my Hiram Walker it will be 20-30 years before I get to replace it with the good stuff! |
