The Starting Gate, Los Alamitos, Ca. 15 bucks
The Ghastly Ones,
The Tomorrowmen,
The Verbtones, (with special guest Eddie Bertrand)
The Surge,
Secret Samurai,
The Sand Devils,
The Detonators,
The Reventlos,
and Probably a surprise short set by a band doin a reunion,
a few weeks later.
and a 1 hour Jam session.

Sun. Aug 2nd at the Huntington Beach pier, 11 am to 5 pm
Verbtones, The Surge,The Reventlos, The Eliminators, and The Chantays.

Fri. July 31st in San Diego, Bar Pink. 9 pm
Secret Samurai, The Verbtones from Portland, and The Tomorrowmen, from San Francisco.

Also Fri. July 31st in El Segundo-L.A. The Purple Orchid
Insect Surfers, THe Boardwalkers, and The Surge from Atlanta.

and working on getting the Duo tones, Paul Johnson, and Gil Ore
at Don the Beachcombers, in Sunset Beach, 5 min north of HB pier.
Sun. Aug 2nd, 6 pm to 8 pm.

also thinking about doing a show on Thurs. July 30th.

oh and Surf Music is related to tiki, and there will be tiki magazine, and other tiki related stuff there. so there.

What is Slacktone up to?

they played 2 shows here in LA in June.
1 at the Purple Orchid tiki bar, then at the HB pier the next day.
they are going to Europe in August or September I think.

its hard for Slacktone to play alot,
as Dusty is always on the road with Agent Orange,
and Sam, is Out with Dick Dale.
and they both also play with a few other bands.
look at Dusty's myspace or website. hes a busy guy.

but Slacktone usually manages to do a few So. Cal. shows a year, and some type of tour. SF area, North East, Florida, or Europe once a year.

I wanted them to be involved in the surf convention weekend,
but its not going to happen this year.

It's too bad they don't gig more. I've seen Sammy with Dick a few times but Dusty was already gone. Dusty is everywhere as usual and Dave is the corporate guy, LOL.

Oh Slacktone still plays, just not as much as a band where everybody is always around.
like I said, they usually do a few local shows every year, and take some type of tour/road trip once a year.

I'm so glad I got to see them in Orlando. Kismet that they happened to be there at the same time I was on vacation. Better as it wasn't a show, just a warmup gig....so there weren't that many people. I was 3 feet from Dave the entire show.

You've been advertising this event in two threads here on TC since the middle of May, so you definitely gave the TCers plenty of time to make plans to attend this fun filled and exciting event, not to be missed.
