Here is a Craigslist post I found. If it was a little closer I might go look at it. http://burlington.craigslist.org/bik/1106219092.html Kind of cool though. KK |

Not to be confused with this bike which actually built from bamboo and carbon composite fiber instead of just painted to look like bamboo |

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8125274.stm On the outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia, next year's crop of bicycles is being watered by Benjamin Banda. "We planted this bamboo last year," he says, "and now the stems are taller than me. When it's ready we'll cut it, cure it and then turn it into frames." Mr Banda, is the caretaker for Zambikes, a company set up by two Californians and two Zambians which aimed to build bikes tough enough to handle the local terrain. |

Some place owned by an English actor has started selling these and been getting quite a lot of press. It is interesting to see who much they are actually sold for compared to £3000 they charge over here! |

There is one of these in our local antique mall. The fenders are real bamboo and the baskets. The frame is all wrapped in reed or whatever. Very cool bike. Perfect strand cruiser. No good in these TN hills. $400 |
