Swizzles Are Swell, But Picks Are Always Cuter

Don't get me wrong. I love swizzles, but I'm also fascinated by their adorable little counterpart, The Pick.

So I want to know which places cared enough back in the day to create not only a swizzle to stir your drink, but also a pick to display your garnish or to skewer your pupus.

I have a few picks in my collection.

First, the Kahiki. It's certainly the largest of the picks.

Next is the Kon Tiki.

Then there's the Harvey's pick. It has the little hook to hang onto your glass.

Trader Vic's had the Maori pick with the hook on the back as well as the Menehune pick.

Don the Beachcomber

Trader Frank's from Tiki Gardens

The Reef in Waikiki

The Beachcomber in Canada.

These last two aren't marked, but I have them swizzle sized, marked Kon Tiki and Mauna Loa.

I know there are many more out there.

Does anyone have photographic examples of other picks?

Uh oh Kate, you've got me thinking... I might have to change my swizzle stick to a Pupu stick for my new mug! Good work Captain!

We might get accused of being picky, but it was high time that Tiki pics got their own post! :)

Yay!!! There certainly aren't enough new swizzles happening these days, but there are even fewer picks.

I almost forgot about this little guy that Tikisgrl sent me a while back.

The Honolulu pick

Great thread Kate. Here are some of mine.
Kon Tiki in light blue and unmarked in green.

Kona Tiki and the pink one is marked "KAHUNA" on the back.

Are forks picks???
I found these in a box destined for the trash.
I don't know anything about them, and can see no wording.
Not a great pic, but the best I could do.
