Friends
It has come to my attention that the Tiki Room soundtrack album will be left
out of the currently planned launch of cool products commemorating the 40th
anniversary of the Tiki Room

This is not because the recording is not available

It has been remixed from the original master tapes onto 24 bit digital and
is going to be made available via a self-ordering kiosk similar to the
"Disneyland forever" machines that currently exist

There are several problems with this

The first being that it is only available at the park and not online or at
any other retail outlet other than the 20th century Music Store on
Mainstreet

Secondly, there are no extra tracks (well, I got the inside scoop that maybe
there will be one hidden extra track)

Thirdly, the artwork is simply the original cover and back. None of the
booklet art will be included and the artwork is printed out of the machine
so it is not really top quality

Fourthly (is that a word?) there is no special edition commemorative
reissue. Why not? Why not include the Shag artwork and some history about
the Tiki Room in the liner notes?

Please write Disney and ask them these burning questions

Better yet send a real letter directly to the people who release the CDs at:

Walt Disney Records
500 South Buena Vista
Burbank, CA
91521-6231

I agree...everyone write!

When Walt Disney World had the "Walt Disney World Forever" kiosks (which no longer exist), I was lucky enough to get all of the show tracks for the Tiki Room,l including the original WDW "Barker Bird". When I visited Disneyland for the 45th Press Event, I was lucky enough to get the Disneyland Tiki Garden Preshow tracks.

I have seen the LP, but do not have a copy. I think it would be great to finally have the CD version (including the booklet) of the original LP. As a matter of fact, it would be great if they included all of the tracks from the "Under New Management" and "Get the Fever" (Japan) installments, too...kinda like a "Tiki Room around the globe" collection.

Oh well...here's hoping that they get the hint that they could easily make some money off of it. :)

Aloha!
