ahhhhhh, SoaB, we've missed your profound, intellectual and grammatically challenged musings.

BTW - it's Don HO. Maybe Don HOE is the guy sniffing his finger after each butt pick.

And I have missed you. Feels good to be back. mrs. pineapple rules TC ...............(edit)

Actully, it was graet. Especially the Don Hoe-Ho sing along. Gave me chills. In all honesty, the guy and the bugers. Well! He actully wiped it on the front of the bar, not under the counter. Although it looked like one was on the side of the popcorn dish as well. Could have been a cockroach. Not sure.

Since I have no interest in meeting beautiful cougars with parrots crapping in their Frost-n-Tipped hair, I'll go for Door #1. Pass the poop-corn!

I'd rather hang out with stinky old men than be accosted by beer-swilling, drunken frat-boys belting out "Cheesburger In Paradise" any day....

Hey! I am not a stinky old man. The place stunk when I woke up, so I walked across the street. That left three old men.

Yikes!

As an old flame once taught me...before you choose, check to make sure those are the only two choices!

I have found the perfect candidate for TC's version of "Rick Rolling." Must be played at full screen and full volume.

Hmm, link now says, "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by a third party."
It was the video of the song, "Homemade Music." It was so bad it was ... bad.

what next?

Recording artist-turned empire builder Jimmy Buffett is bringing a restaurant to the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber -- but it won't be called Margaritaville, as are his nine other restaurants.

There has been talk of him opening a Hawaii eatery for years.

The $15 million Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber is to open in late 2008 with construction to start soon on the 22,000 square foot restaurant that will seat 400 customers.

The eatery and bar will be on Kalakaua Avenue above Macy's on the hotel's lobby level, replacing the Hibiscus Cafe and Don Ho and Blue Hawaii showrooms.

"Our partnership with Jimmy Buffett has made it possible to bring this unique new concept to Waikiki," said Dean Nakasone, general manager of Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber, in a statement.

Buffett, also in a statement, said he has "had a long love affair with Hawaii and her people."

"I have written many stories and songs inspired by my time in Hawaii and can't wait to see what the future holds in the land that is so far but yet so near," he said.

The restaurant's food, like that at his Margaritaville restaurants, will be inspired by the island themes in Buffett's songs including island-style seafood and burgers, which brings us to Cheeseburger in Paradise.

The Waikiki and Maui restaurants have no connection to Buffett except for a lawsuit he filed against the business years ago over its use of the name, taken from one of his songs.

The two eateries got to keep the name, but others have been named for their locations, such as Cheeseburger Waikiki.

I have to confess that I do have one Parrothead song in my MP3 rotation - "The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful". It makes me laugh

Fun, short interview here:
http://www.mensjournal.com/survival-skills-jimmy-buffett
A few highlights:
How do you make your favorite drink?
It’s basically just good Caribbean rum, coconut water — the clear stuff from the coconut that you can now get in Whole Foods; not Coco Lopez — a fresh piece of lime, and lots of ice. That’s it. No bubbles, lots of electrolytes, and no hangover — if you don’t drink a gallon. How do you think all those folks survive Carnival in Trinidad for two weeks?

What one skill should every man have?
To be a good reader, because then you don’t have to be a conversationalist to be knowledgeable. I’m shy.

What’s the handiest survival skill you have?
I’m a pretty good field medic. From my Boy Scout days I can patch people up. I can do stitches, which comes in handy in remote surf breaks.

What skill would you like to master?
I had a fleeting desire to do kitesurfing— then I saw the injury reports and the YouTube videos and I went, “Nah. I’m content.” Stand up paddleboarding is the last new skill I learned. Laird Hamilton gave me a lesson. It took me about an hour, and then I had it pretty good.

What’s the secret to staying young?
For me it’s being in the water every day, whether it’s surfing or swimming. I look at these guys in Hawaii and they’re 80 years old in the surf break and look great. And that’s all they do. I want to be in that club when I’m that old.
