Recently I was able to find an LP of "Ms. Pony Tail" because I was looking for the song "how high the moon" from the "biloxi Blues" movie. Anyway, here is another song from this amazing singer...

Dig the bongos!

And funny how they were able to guess it was her...

And here is the clip from the movie:

Anyone recognize the bongo player, could it be Jack Costanzos?
He played with many of the top pop stars of the early 50s, not sure
if he had any Sinatra connection. Played with Stan Kenton and was involved
in a good many of the pop-latin tunes of the day.

TM

it could be, as he was one of the "go to" guys for bongos!

Looks like Jack Costanzo to me! :)

Nice clip!

Cheers and Mahalo,
Jeff

I found this record last year at the Not-So-Great Goodwill at Adams and Magnolia in Huntington Beach next to Zubies Dry Dock (Mmm Zubies Dry Dock!) anyway that store never has anything cool and when you see something that says "Ms. Pony Tail" I think there's a law that you have to buy it. I’m glad you guys like it, I like it a lot.

Woah! You lucked out! I had to buy it from Amazon. The CD is actually out of print now, and going for 100 bucks or something. I was able to get the album for about 8 bucks plus shipping. Mine was in pretty good condition...of course my favorite track is "how high the moon"...the song, the way she sings it, is very exotic sounding! Normally this song is played fast, but she slows it way down. Some of the songs she does are a bit too "broadway" for my liking, however. She really overdoes it a little as do most broadway singers.

Here is a photo of Jack Costanzo:
