Looking for rattan

Pages: 1 9 replies

Looking for a rattan living room set, preferably 50's but not a must, does anyone have any suggestions?

Finding a set, that's vintage or 50's is pretty tough. Usually it's separate pieces that need to be obtained over a period of time. Ebay, of course, is one place, but what are the chances of finding a whole, matching, near-mint to mint, reasonably priced set?

Try some of the SoCal rattan places, since you just might find what you like in a new set. It's worth a try!

Fred, I'm in the same dilemna being that I'm looking for furniture for my future bar space. I've had my eye out for the past year or so and unless you want drop serious $$$, then you'll have to be patient. Unfortunately, the new stuff isn't very appealing and the old stuff, like SCD said, is few and far between in good condition at reasonable prices.

Good Luck my brutha - May the force be with you.

Sam/Fred,
Since you are now a Long Beach local...
Try and check-out the LB Swapmeet at vets stadium. Get there around 6:30am. I'm sure you can pick one up....

Sam,
Check out the "Rattan Collection" link on this site...

http://www.kellysvintagestore.com/

It's reproduction stuff but it looks pretty darn nice. But alas, it's still a tad pricey...
Aloha,
:tiki:

In addition to Kelley's, try the Starlite Room on 4th St. in Long Beach. They usually have some nice rattan and the owners are very cool.

Kelly's equals $$$ plus $$$

Starlite Room: Jason & Catherine are cool. Stop in and tell them what your looking for.

Hi Sam...not sure if you're still looking for rattan furniture, however
I was surfing the net and found http://www.waikiki.com. They have a 6 piece rattan living room set. Its new but has the pretzle shape, 40-50's classic styling with 5 strands. It doesnt look too shabby for $1088 + shipping. Aloha.
