I think this character was inspired by the famous Mexican exotic dancer "TONGOLELE" |

Rarotonga 50's look Rarotonga 70's look Amazing how that Polynesian princess managed to stay in the look, trend and fashion for decades. Pretty sophisticated for a savage. |

I just remembered, Rarotonga is from the Micronesia, not Polynesia! |

Hmmm... I don't think afros were sported by Polynesians. Are you sure Rarotonga wasn't a Melanesian princess from PNG or Indonesia? (Ooops, I guess you are, your post above beat me by minutes). I really wanna derail this into a Pam Grier/Blaxploitation/Afro thread. Ha, Ha. Hey ATP has his Bettie, I have my Pammy. But don't worry I have more self-control than he does. :D And expect the BigBro to chime in on the Tongolele thread. I've seen his past posts on her. (We got his number) [ Edited by: JOHN-O 2010-01-19 14:44 ] |

I am talking about the comic book character, I don't know if there was ever an authentic flesh and bone princess. |

Yah, I like her 70s fashion choices better, too! What a classic Poly pop melange: The heroine is from Micronesia, her name is from Polynesia (Society Islands), and her hairdo from Fiji!: [ Edited by: bigbrotiki 2010-01-19 16:15 ] [ Edited by: bigbrotiki 2010-01-19 16:16 ] |

Haha, I'm writing to fast on too many replies, making mistakes. Never knew about her, unfortunately she's not featured in this fun little book: |

Really it will be true that its like a danger for all ..it is better to skip the extended look if you have good hair or a long and narrow face. |
