okay- so it doesn't trump the $400 bar in huntington beach that's for sale.....but here's something for the mid westerners.....it's still a decent bar for the price...

..and this is not my listing...just happened to stumble upon it....

Tipsy that is a nice clean bar at a very reasonable price.
Wish it was in Cali.

What's do you mean, Ben?

ben is sad because this bar, like many from it's time, features what is probably split half rounds of varnished wood to give the illusion of bamboo, when in fact it's probably not bamboo that you are seeing here....i have a few vintage planters made the same way...just split wood half rounds varnished yellow....still has that look though but if you are a bamboo purist this bar is probably not for you.

simple statement of fact,hardly booming.

a couple 'Midol' may help you though these times.

I hear Summer's Eve works well for that.

Sounds like it's time for you to take a trip to the store

I know Ben likes the look of Bamboo, as I do too .Bamboo show off the nodules ,
where the rattan , not as much. However most vintage bars that were made by a
company and not in a garage were made of rattan. If rattan is stained and
varnished properly can achieve a very good patina.Vintage bamboo bars are
more rare and harder to come bye based on my experience.

Vintage bar vertical bamboo with mahogany bar top and frame

Vintage rattan bar .. a great look , but obviously a different look then bamboo.

The listing is down now so there
is not that great of a pic.
But if you look a the photo up top
the give away that it is Ashcraft is
the way they did that fake burned on node.
You dont see that on rattan very much if ever.
Plus the wood is very even on Ashcraft.
Because its man made.
Rattan is somewhat more uneven.
