Description:
Low Key Tiki is the type of establishment that lives up to it's name...."low key." The restaurant is located on the Monroe Canal just off the intercoastal waterway and at Mile Marker One by land. Customers arrive to the restaurant on foot, golf carts, bicycles, motorcycles, cars and even by boat. The tiki hut is 42x25 feet and the bar is 38 feet. They were built by Big Kahuna Tiki Huts - http://www.palmhuts.com In an effort to keep prices low for their customers, Low Key Tiki has a "low key" menu, with plenty of SOS (delicious "Stuff On a Stick") and pints of beer for only $1.50. Music is also low key, so patrons can talk easily amongst themselves.
Proprieters Scott and Barb Adams said the opening of their restaurant/bar has been well received by the local community.
This area is home to more than 16 active bald eagles nests.

Mmmmm..... Stuff-on-a-Stick!

Either it just opened, or the pix are really early in the day (no people). Either way it looks like a good excuse to get back over to the Florida West Coast. Are they open for lunch? Because I want to do dinner at the new Trader Vics in Sarasota.
