Hana, Hawaii recently won the title "Most Romantic City" in a contest from Korbel Champagne. The great part of the story is that Indialantic, FL placed second. ???

Indialantic comes in 2nd in romance contest

The votes are in and Korbel sparkling wines has a winner in its ROMANCE USA contest to find the most romantic city in America.

Unfortunately for Janice Rutherford, Indialantic came in a close second to Hana, Hawaii.

That means Rutherford and her husband Ryan, who live in the beachside community, won’t be traveling to California wine country as part of the grand prize.

Rutherford said long walks on the beach, as well as watching fireworks over the river on the 4th of July – with a glass of Korbel, no less – made Indialantic the most romantic city in the U.S.

The woman who submitted Hana had visited there as a tourist. She wrote: “At night, we took moonlight walks along Hamoa Beach, dreaming up ways we could stay longer. Sometimes at night I can still hear the sound of the wind rushing through the bamboo forest and feel the gentle trade winds on my face.”

Officials said more than 2,000 votes were cast and only 200 votes separated Hana and Indialantic; only ten votes separated Indialantic and the third place city — Asheville, N.C.

I'm thinking of taking my fiancee to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Not being familiar with the islands, I'd appreciate some advice -- perhaps pointing me in the right direction.

Here's what we would enjoy:

A smaller, boutique resort

A more secluded rather than metropolitan location

A very nice room -- we plan to spend a lot of time in our bedroom

Lots of natural beauty within easy access

Thanks in advance for any advice!
