Looking good man. Next best tool? Don't know exactly what you have now. You said some straight chisels and mentioned details. So I might recommend a Dremel. If you get one that comes in a kit you will get some extra bits, sanding drums etc. that will help your detail work. A carbide burr would be great for detail and shaping work. |

I would say to go with a carving set from Flexcut, the Mallet set, it has 4 Large tools and is relatively inexpensive and Excellent quality. one source: |

Very nice set of tiki's for just starting! The wood 20oz mallet is a nice price with that set. If you wanted to go polyurethane you can get a less expensive mallet here:
