I'm thrilled up to my Mai Tai to announce and new musical project coming from a collaboration with members of the Moon-Rays, Funk Du Jour, The Mosquitos, and the Blue Zombies. The band is called Voodoo Island and it will be Chicagos only real Exotica/cocktail band. Check them out on Facebook or MySpace and keep an eye out for them if our in the Chi-town area soon!!!!!!

I don't know how "new" these guys are (they have 17000 hits on thier myspace) but regardless, it's really good! My favorite tracks are "susan" and "Tanya", but they are all far out!

In my opinion, the only thing that would make it perfect is real acoustic bass, recorded with a mic, (instead of the electric bass and fretless or electric upright it sounds like he is using)....but that's because I like real bass...but I know people's tastes differ....

Anyway, this band understands exotica, and gets the concept! Lucas Likes!

Voodoo Island will be featured on Koop Koopers Cocktail nation show this week!

Very cool indeed!!!

Blame it on the Bosa Nova blew me backwards in my desk chair. I was not expecting her to go so gonzo crescendo!

Hip.

Their CD is on this acquisition list.

Chicago is such a huge music scene (likely ten thousand groups of every possible genre)...it's cool there is some new lounge, here.
