IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE! Strut your stuff on the runway as a MODEL! • MODELS: We’re looking for men and women who want to show off their favorite ensembles from their personal collection of tiki or retro wear. Please send snapshots of you wearing the outfits you wish to model. We would like to present as many fashions as possible. The photographs do not have to be professional shots, just a full-length image that shows the lines and colors of each garment. • DESIGNERS: We want retro-inspired clothing or accessories, the flashier the better. Please submit snapshots of your designs for consideration, as we will show a lot of styles. Plan on providing your own models for the event. ACCESSORY DESIGNERS/ARTISTS can pair their items with other outfits being modeled or you may also provide your own models. • VENDORS: Increase your sales by displaying your vintage fashions and accessories to your ideal audience. Vendors should provide your own models for the show. Please submit snapshots of the fashions/accessories that you would like to show. We would like to present as many fashions as possible. • STAGE MANAGER: Are you an exceptional individual who can wrangle the backstage scene? If so, we want you to stage manage the show. One of the principle duties is to line up the models in order and send them out on cue during the staging rehearsal and the actual event. Please write to us if you are interested, experience is a plus but not a must. • WARDROBE MANAGER: Can you keep us organized? Keeping each model’s garments organized on the racks and dispensing the next outfit in the lineup is one of the main duties of the wardrobe manager. Please write to us if you’re interested, experience is a plus but not a must. • DRESSERS: Male and female dressers are needed to assist models with their lightning fast changes during the show. Please write to us if you are interested, experience is a plus but not a must. ALL MODELS AND BACKSTAGE STAFF MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND THE STAGING REHEARSAL PRIOR TO THE SHOW. Please send submissions to: [ Edited by: Tiki Bree 2010-02-22 06:18 ] [ Edited by: Tiki Bree 2010-02-22 06:37 ] |

I'm receiving a lot of inquiries about positions in the show & am excited by the response. If you would like to be a model but do not have photos to submit at this time, please write to me and let me know about your interest in being a Hukilau model. You can send your pics later as long as they arrive before the April deadline. I want to make sure that everyone has a chance to be considered as a model. Same goes for designers and vendors. I am happy to answer all of your questions about the fashion show and about how many ensembles you can feature in the Sarong-O-Rama. |

Models, models, models! We're looking for guys and gals to strut their stuff on the runway! You don't have to be a professional model! Just e-mail us photos of you wearing your fave Polynesian couture! Send me and Tiki Bree a full-length image that shows the lines and colors of each garment. The shots also don't need to be professional. E-mail us at [email protected]. Remember, the fashion show isn't just about the gals! The guys are welcome, too! Here's an image of Dan Carr modeling a Hawaiian shirt from Hukilau vendor Playground Zero during the 2007 Sarong-O-Rama. |
