IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE!
Your fav retro fashion show, the Sarong-O-Rama, is back again this year and we’re looking for MODELS, DESIGNERS, VENDORS & BACKSTAGE PERSONNEL.

Strut your stuff on the runway as a MODEL!
FASHION DESIGNERS, show your fantastic fashions and accessories to a fascinating array of hipsters that dig your scene.
VENDORS: Get your merch out there for all to see.
or…..
Be a part of the backstage excitement as a DRESSER, WARDROBE MANAGER or STAGE MANAGER.

• MODELS: We’re looking for men and women who want to show off their favorite ensembles from their personal collection of tiki or retro wear. Please send snapshots of you wearing the outfits you wish to model. We would like to present as many fashions as possible. The photographs do not have to be professional shots, just a full-length image that shows the lines and colors of each garment.

• DESIGNERS: We want retro-inspired clothing or accessories, the flashier the better. Please submit snapshots of your designs for consideration, as we will show a lot of styles. Plan on providing your own models for the event. ACCESSORY DESIGNERS/ARTISTS can pair their items with other outfits being modeled or you may also provide your own models.

• VENDORS: Increase your sales by displaying your vintage fashions and accessories to your ideal audience. Vendors should provide your own models for the show. Please submit snapshots of the fashions/accessories that you would like to show. We would like to present as many fashions as possible.

• STAGE MANAGER: Are you an exceptional individual who can wrangle the backstage scene? If so, we want you to stage manage the show. One of the principle duties is to line up the models in order and send them out on cue during the staging rehearsal and the actual event. Please write to us if you are interested, experience is a plus but not a must.

• WARDROBE MANAGER: Can you keep us organized? Keeping each model’s garments organized on the racks and dispensing the next outfit in the lineup is one of the main duties of the wardrobe manager. Please write to us if you’re interested, experience is a plus but not a must.

• DRESSERS: Male and female dressers are needed to assist models with their lightning fast changes during the show. Please write to us if you are interested, experience is a plus but not a must.

ALL MODELS AND BACKSTAGE STAFF MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND THE STAGING REHEARSAL PRIOR TO THE SHOW.

Please send submissions to:
Tiki Bree & Sandra Carr
[email protected]
Deadline is APRIL 18, 2010
This is already shaping up to be the best Sarong-O-Rama ever! Don’t you want to be a part of the excitement?

I'm receiving a lot of inquiries about positions in the show & am excited by the response. If you would like to be a model but do not have photos to submit at this time, please write to me and let me know about your interest in being a Hukilau model. You can send your pics later as long as they arrive before the April deadline. I want to make sure that everyone has a chance to be considered as a model.

Same goes for designers and vendors. I am happy to answer all of your questions about the fashion show and about how many ensembles you can feature in the Sarong-O-Rama.

Send us a photo of you wearing your fave tiki threads by April 18, 2010. Professional photos aren't required. Just a full-length image that shows the lines and colors of the garment that you would like to wear during the Sarong-O-Rama. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Sarong-O-Rama is definitley a highlight of the weekend. Here is a shot from 2008 as I search from some more.

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing our Stage Manager for the Sarong-O-Rama this year. This integral position is going to...(drum roll)...johnpingpong aka John Matheson!
John's extensive background in theatre production will help make this year's Sarong-O-Rama a spectacular event. Sandra & I are excited to have John as our trusty right-hand-man for the fashion show.

Me and Tiki Bree are excited about this year's Sarong-O-Rama! Congrats, John (stage manager)! I look forward to meeting and working with you this year! We're also looking for men and women models, a wardrobe manager, dressers and professional makeup artists to volunteer their time for the fashion show! Here's another photo of what you can expect from this year's Sarong-O-Rama!

Cheers,

Sandra

I am so very proud of everybody who made this year's Sarong-O-Rama such a huge success. This fantastic presentation wouldn't have happened without each & every one of you.
Models, what can I say??? You WORKED it!!!
Vendors thank you for the beautiful merch.
John and Lono what would I have done without you? Mega thanx for keeping the show running smoothly.
Tristan, Thank you for your patience during all the hours I was at the computer working on the show (and sewing, you pin a mean hem) and thanks for the fantastic music & script.
David, we loved your sparkle at the podium.
Otto, thanks for your expert escort services.
Cosmix, Career College & Art Institute, the stylists & dressers were superb this year. And I must include Madame Madeline Eyelashes for donating our flirty lashes!!
My deepest thanks goes to Sandra for her untiring work in the months leading up to the show and during the production.

with love & pride,
Tiki Bree
