I think tiki torches are crucial for setting ambiance. I light them every evening at Hulaville, and peoples heads turn when they drive down the street. It just wouldn't be the same without them. I control costs by using refillable canisters. It costs me about $6.00 per week for the two torches. But I consider it marketing, and that is incredibly inexpensive for marketing. When I originally spoke to the city of San Clemente and the Fire Inspector about this, they told me not to do it inside, and to make sure no one was going to bump into them or anything, but that there were no specific laws prohibiting them. I got the feeling that no one had ever actually asked them about erecting flaming torches before - they looked at me a little weird. [ Edited by: Hulaville 2010-07-06 22:05 ] |
