Tiki Central / Tiki Carving

thinking of making a Tiki guitar

Pages: 1 8 replies

The thought of making or converting from an existing, Tiki electric guitar has surfaced several times.

As winter approaches the USA's central coast, surfing becomes less appealing, as getting eaten by an polar bear becomes more likely while paddling out.

Anyone made or converted a Tiki guitar, and if so, what approach did you take?

Thank you.

Ive seen a few done. Is this going to be for playing or simply to hang on a wall and look pretty? Starting from a kit would be much easier either way. I'm not sure what your budget is or how deep into the build process of guitar making you want to dive into.
Cool idea though.

Just don't do this:

(Dear Mr hakalugi, if you come across this post, can you please put one of those "Not Tiki" anti slash over those guitars? Thanks.)

I remember TikiKing had a cool tiki carved on a uke headstock a few years back.

Buzzy Out!

Here ya go Buzz :)

Tikimango had a neat maori manaia inspired tiki guitar. A jewel just looking at it. Where is he by the way, "Paging for Mr. TIKIMANGO!"

P

wplugger did a pretty cool one.

Hope this help!

I know someone else that started one - but has let it collect dust in his shop. He knows who he is and everyone else here knows his work!

That should be good enough. I wanna build one. There's a Uke halfway down the page.

Actually saw one on utube made from a plank and a Spam can.
