The sweet little white shot glass Kate made for me, my Hawaiian name is on the back in Kate's writing. I'm smiling.....still :)

I believe that Kate was inspired to carve these tikis from images she found in SHAG paintings...his 2D images were those colors.

PS: Kate adamantly refused to ever use any type of power tool while carving.

Wonderful idea for a thread! I did not know that Kate was such a prolific hobby sculptor. There is another aspect of her art, the art of collecting vintage Tiki material, some of which I got to utilize in my Sound of Tiki booklet, and some of which will be in my Tiki shirt book.

This is only a blip on the screen in relation to her huge collection of research, but here is her name in my Sound of Tiki booklet credits, at the end, just before the TC credit:
