moai plasma lamp

I am interested in these, anybody seen one of these in person? It seems pretty cool.
sorta space age, kinda tiki, how can you go wrong?

Those lamps are usually expensive, but this one seems affordable.

They look great in person, though small. They say "mini moai" on the box, so maybe they also make a "mega moai"? They've been in Spencer Gifts (a mall chain store here in the south) since the beginning of the summer for $50

it's a nice thick glass... the base is plastic... i decided not to buy it though b/c of the size, it seemed good quality enough.
