I was wondering if anyone had ever compiled a list (if not, we could start one here) of essential Tiki LPs on CD. If not, perhaps the list we create here could serve as a handy guide for those Tiki LPs on CD that are still available (in print) in a world that doesn't value physical media (anymore) much less anything Tiki. I'll start! As of this writing, the 1996 reissue of Arthur Lyman's "Taboo" on Rykodisc is still readily available from Amazon.com. Looking for a copy of Martin Denny's "Exotica"? Skip the domestic Scamp twofer and pick up this UK imported edition from Rev-ola Records since it contains both the mono AND stereo versions (dramatically different) of the album on one CD! Oh man! God bless DigiTiki! I'd forgotten all about his lists! Yes, no need to reinvent the wheel. And thank you (in all sincerity) for not embarrassing me. You couldn't have pointed out my overstatement any more tactfully (seriously!). :D Everyone, disregard this thread. Check out the above links to DigiTiki.com! :) |
