Good ol' Chinanski... I think I remember reading one of his stories where he is with Kerouac and Dean Morierty in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, And they all smoke the weed.

He does have a point on the hangover being a character forming activity. But I don't know... He was a brunk, sorry, I mean, drunk.

P.S. I have the coolest drinking T-shirt with a picture of him wearing a T-shirt with his face printed in it and the words "BUKOWSKY" under it. I have always wondered where that picture came from. I bought my T-shirt in "La Lagunilla" Market in Mexico and I am entierly sure it's an "Unofficial product".

I saw a t-shirt that looked like a Budweiser label but it said Bukowski instead of Budwweiser! Apparently booze is okay, but the KGB is verbotten?! I guess you have to be a falling down drunk to be a rebel or something. eye rolling

Ed "Big Daddy" Roth also hated Mickey Mouse and that hatred motivated him to create the anti-Mickey Mouse, Rat Fink. Did not see lots of tiki art created by Big Daddy but lots of Ed Roth inspired artist do like tiki and lots of tiki artist like Mr. Roth.
