It's the wife's birthday on Saturday, were surrounded by the freshest cocktail ingredients but I don't know what to make. There is a lovely lady up the road that sells fresh green coconuts and these would save on washing mugs so I fancy using them. Also another lady sells crushed sugar cane juice, a good simple syrup replacement. I also can get lots of ice and all the fresh tropical fruit you can imagine. The local cheap spirit is "Sangsom Rum" a sort of goldenish rum, mixes well, try to avoid mixing it with Red Bull if you want to retain your dignity. I also have a bottle of orgeat, any suggestion? |

Have you tried the Grogalizer? You enter the ingredients you have available and it coordinates recipes from Beachbum Berry. DC |

If you can track down some light rum (I assume the coconut milk and fresh lime and pineapple juice won't be a problem), I heartily recommend the Bum's Luau Coconut. The recipe is on page 182 of Remixed, but it's also available online here: |

Thanks for the tips, I ended up making the "Luau Coconut" and it went down a treat. I was slightly worried about making it as it involved opening coconuts with a machete and my current score on that game was 4-0 to the coconuts. Having never managed to open a coconut without shedding my own blood. But by the end of the night I was 28-4, being now able to deftly chop open a coconut in four blows. |
