The secret to getting what you want is to go ahead and secretly buy your own presents during the course of the year and then stash them. When it comes time for the significant others to go Christmas shopping pull out the gifts with their receipts and tell them that they have no choice but to wrap the presents for you otherwise you would end up with double presents and we all know that limited budgets does not allow that. That's what I did this year, I will let you know how it goes over. |

ACK! don't get me started on that. I could write a book on how many of my wish lists have been botched. Even my Amazon wish list (which you'd think would be foolproof) has been messed up. It's sort of become the family joke. -Z (HEY! 101 posts- Wahoo!) |

i know people hate giving gift certificates, but theres always an Amazon.com one someone can give you (thats where I bought my tiki tissue holder. We usually pick names and have a detailed list of what we want in all price categories. there usually is a spending cap, but I suggested it with my in-laws last year and everyone got what they wanted. Theres always that American Express gift card too...I don't know if VISA offers the same. |

Another fun way to hopefully receive what you want is a gift exchange. It looks like eBay is debuting this service this year. eBay Secret Santa Gift Exchange beginning in mid-November. Sounds interesting but I wonder how many people will actually participate? |
