I just got about 15 palm logs that just got cut yesterday sized from 3 to 5 feet and approx. 10 to 12inch thick. How long do I need to wait before trying to carve. Any info would help. Always wanted to start carving but had nothing to work with. [ Edited by: Whtrash 2011-05-24 05:55 ] |

I've carved them the next day, and I've carved them after they sat for years. It's easier to carve when it's fresh, but there's a better chance it will crack and split. |

Nice score bro. That's a lot of fan palm. I have a few that I cut that died last winter & stood, dead & drying, for a year. They're perfect! |
