Pittsburgh to Fort Lauderdale road trip (hukilau) suggestions?

My wife and I are taking a 19hour road trip from Pittsburgh to Ft. Lauderdale for Hukilau and are looking for suggestions of places along the way?

I think we're planning on heading toward Voodoo Lounge in Charleston, SC for a pit stop.

Any other suggestions of cool things to see along the way?

If you travel a little more inland you'll go right through Atlanta. The TV there is a throw back to the 70's (and in a Hilton!) so you can overnight. It'd be 22 hours (11 to ATL then 11 more to FtL, instead of 19 hours).
And you'll get to see the magical elevator button.
