"Comic Strip Presents" episode in 1984 with "Hawaiians"

Pages: 1 2 replies

There was a british TV (telly?) series shorts starring performers from London's "Comic Strip" comedy club and their friends.

One memorable episode, "Slags" was kind of like Romeo & Juliet / West Side Story except one gang was the Slags, who looked like extras from "Mad Max," while the rival gang were "The Hawaiians."

It was a visually satisfying experience seing guys in hawaiian shirts and leis, holding coconut mugs with umbrellas, rumble with the post-apocalyptic set. I know which gang I would rather be in...

And which famous britiki bar features in Slags?

Extra footage of the bar can be seen in this video for ABC's poison arrow.
