Imagine a Tikified version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy but infused with eleven original cocktail recipes, twenty-one food recipes, numerous illustrations and dozens of glossy food and beverage photos. The book features a stand-alone novella-length story that mixes humor, fantasy, and satire with the surreal.

With the aid of a time travelling chair that he acquired at a vintage furniture fair, the story centers around surfer dude Terrance Tipple and his Lucky Lady Lucy as they travel through different dimensions acquiring the goods and recipes necessary for a 2012 pre-apocalyptic island Luau. Terrance won’t be hired for any motivational speaking tours soon but damn he can grill. Beauty and brains, Lucy is the one who collects the clues to the 2012 enigma and attempts to solve its mystery.

Here’s a sample recipe:

Kava Lava

1 oz Demerara Rum
1 oz Aged Jamaican Rum (Appleton V/X)
1 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Lime Juice
1 tsp Grenadine
6 drops Absinthe or Pernod
dash of bitters

Shake with large ice cubes and strain over cracked ice. Enjoy!
