125 coconuts ...and each print is carefully wrapped, and lovingly pressed into a mailing tube, as the jungle drums beat by 99 exotic dancing girls/guys costumed in cursed golden pirate booty adornments en-wrapping their beautifully curvaceous... er... ah... well... let's just say... Shipping and handling is $10.

The original painting is 24" by 20", Acrylic on canvas.

"Hawaiian Eye" was created for an art show coming next year. The show: "Tales from the Tiki Lounge" is going to be held at the "La Luz de Jesus" Gallery in Los Angeles California. A gallery known as the world famous birth place of the low-brow art movement .
"Tales from the Tiki Lounge" will be a new body of work by Brad (tiki shark) Parker. It's theme is "Tiki-Pulp" and promises to be full of mind-expanding, imagination-feeding, gourmet eye treats.
July, 6th 2012, opening night is 8-11 PM.

ALOHA TIKI TRIBE!

The Brad Tiki-shark Parker front window room of the The Wyland Kona Ocean Front Gallery, 75-5770 Alii Drive, Kailua-Kona Hawaii 96740, (808) 334-0037

A GREAT Big Aloha and Heartfelt Mahalo to everyone at the Wyland Gallery for supporting my art when many many other galleries here in Hawaii were not so keen on showing "low-brow" art, were not brave enough to give up rare wall space to display my lurid* Tiki Art. It took balls to show something different while all the other galleries were staying with tried and true sellers in this damned tight- very tight economy.

Say what you like about Wyland, and his many many paintings of whales and dolphins: tourist art? Maybe. But, he gave up ultra-prime front window/wall space in his gallery - even when he was making a personal appearance and painting there in public. There he was painting whales in the gallery, while my monsters and tikis and hot rods filled the window, drawing startled and puzzled looks from Wyland fans.

Sure, it's there for a reason, my art must be bringing in the tourists... mouths agape and eyes wide. It's just not what you expect to see in a Wyland gallery. And I'm very honored that I've been given this chance to introduce gallery goers to "Tiki Art" and "Pop Surrealism"... LURID art!

  • "Lurid": Honolulu Magazine, Jan issue, in a piece called "The Tiki Tribe", quote "Brad Parker creates Lurid paintings that pull in influences from Tiki, Comics, and Rock."

Anyways, if you are looking for a high end giclee, a paper print, or even an original painting, go ahead and give them a call. The Wyland Kona gallery has great payment plans. They ship anywhere. Give 'em a call, I think they deserve some reward for embracing the strange - sending an aloha to tiki tribe and recognising us as part of the art appreciating population.
Mahalo
&
ALOHA!
