Searching For The Vicious Virgin

So New Year's day I had a chance to sneak into the Dagger bar for some drink and snacks.

I ordered the Vicious Virgin.

Very tasty drink and quite different from what I remember making out of the Phoebe Beach book.

When I asked what they put in it, bartender pulled out their book and they listed a light rum, dark rum and then their "secret mix".

So it sounds like they are just using some rums and then their house juice mix. Anyone else heard of "Vicious Virgins" being made this way?

Don's keeps their drink recipes secret, even to the bartenders
but Art's wife makes them up fresh everyday or two, I am told.

Marie used to do this when she was the Bar Manager & we do miss her excellent drinks!

That makes sense, I was just curious.

If you tried to get to Don's on New Years Eve after 9pm, you would have needed a Fog Cutter. The fog was really thick on PCH and you could barely see a city block ahead of you.

Yikes, never was a fan of driving in fog, that is what I get for living most of my life in the desert.

However back to the Vicious Virgin, so I have Don's recipe from the book, but do you guys/gals have any other recipes you use when making your own Vicious Virgin?

Curious to see how everyone else makes theirs?

I stick to the Bum's recipe.

In which book does he have his recipe?

I didn't think he included that drink in his books, but I could have overlooked it.

Used the grogalizer and found there is a Vicious Virgin #2 in Beachbum Berry Remixed, p.119. Is that what you were referring to?

Yes, thats it, Remixed!

The Vicious Virgin #2 in Beachbum Berry Remixed is a tequila based drink and not what I am really looking for.

If anyone else has a direction or recipe that is similar to what Don's is serving now it would be greatly appreciated.

As would any other thoughts, idea, comments or questions.

Yes I would be looking for something like that, except that is an exact copy from the Don the Beachcomber drink book and is decidedly different from what is currently served at the DtBC today, which is what I am looking to recreate or figure out. And so my hunt continues.
