I have several tropical shirts. All different patterns and what not. But I don't think I have a real "tiki" shirt. And by that I mean a nice button up, made of slightly heavier cloth, with a "tapa" design and a general brown/orange/red (earth colors) color scheme. I am not really looking to buy vintage and would prefer new, does anybody know any good retailers (Preferably California or Online based) where a guy like me could find a shirt like that? Thanks, Rawim |

Take a look at Dawn Frasier's Sophista-Tiki site (www.sophista-tiki.com). She has a fabrics area. I'm saving up to get me one of them. And a painting. And maybe a print or two. One-stop shopping is what I like to call it. Also, if I'm going to go flinging my folding money about, I like to fling it at my fellow TC'ers. [ Edited by: Professor G 2012-01-06 13:29 ] |

that s pretty close to what i am looking for. and yes I should have used the term barkcloth, thank you for bringing that up. i am surprised no one makes those anymore for as many as i see at conventions and concerts, unless i suppose they are custom made. but thanks for the information. if anyone does have any retailer leads, please do share. thanks. |

I sell mostly vintage Hawaiian shirts on eBay and I might have a few that you'd be interested in. If there's not a "best offer" option, please shoot me a message. I'm happy to do anywhere between 15-30% off, it just depends on the shirt. The majority of my inventory is from the 50's-70's and I have 100% feedback on over 2000 transactions (townncountryboy). Please mention TC when making an offer. Hope this helps! http://www.stores.ebay.com/hawaiian-shirts-tiki-and-exotica Michael |

If you are ever in Downey, check out Exotical. The last time I was there they had some brand new shirts made of bark cloth. A little pricey. Here is there website, http://www.goexotical.com/Goexotical/Aloha.html |

That's beautiful. That's exactly what I like to see from the People of the Pu-Pu Platter. We (he said, wiping a proud tear) share. |

http://www.etsy.com/shop/FashionTramp Andy or FashionTramp, who is a member of TC and a regular at Hukilau, makes the BEST clothes! She has tons of patterns and fabrics that you can choose from, or you can find your own fabric. She does a lot of traditional barkcloth fabrics and designs and is very reasonable. I've had her make three custom Aloha shirts for me and could not be any happier with them. Check her out! |
