I've never seen a Tiki Bob Maori mug with this style of paint work... I looked on Ooga Mooga and didn't see one like this either. Do you think someone doctored this one up??

Nope. While uncommon, it is out there and has been used at other establishments as well.

The mug is legit but someone ruined it with a tacky paint job. In my book the thing is worthless now.

Here's the Ooga-Mooga link...

It's always nice to see what people are talking about :)

Several years ago I purchased a box of NOS Tiki Bob mugs with 18 of this style; not one had this paint scheme. This is definitely a case of post-production modification.... don't go crazy with the bidding thinking this is the original paint job.

The paint didn't look right. The obvious red flag was the black added to the eyes. I just wasn't 100% sure if there wasn't another
edition of this mug produced with the paint scheme seen in this auction. Thanks for the insight!!

Any chance this new paint could be removed without damaging the mug . . or is the original paint cold-painted?
